Early Years: Recordings from True Country Album (1979) and Life’s Highway Cassette (1990) and He Means So Much to Me
- Cover photo taken at Birch Pine Park (Oct. 1978)
- From the 1st album made in 1979 when just beginning music career. Joan won The Canadian Open Singing Contest in Simcoe, Ontario and that got things rolling for her. She met Roger Quick – he produced her album with Johnny Burke and the Eastwind Band (backup). Meeting musicians such as Johnny Burke and Al Brisco were highlights from the beginning of her career. This first album included some of her own songs including “I Know the One I Love is You” and “Please Come Back to Me”. In 1990 she went to Nashville and did another recording with Gary Buck. During this time she was introduced to more Nashville stars and she recorded four of her own songs which are on the Life’s Highway cassette.

- Please Come Back to Me – which was played on a Sarnia radio station by Steve Glenn and released by Hillcrest Records

- In 1980, Joan recorded 4-single 45's in Nashville with Producer Howard Walker which have not yet been released.
